Hi,
I have a mid 2010 27' iMac.
It has a displayport 'in' socket on the back. My PC systems graphics card has a displayport 'out' socket so this allows me to input my video signal from my PC to the iMac.
So, I only have to hit 'Command F2' and I can toggle back and forth between my MAC and PC screen.
Great. But I am still using two keyboards and mice when switching between the two.
Anybody have any simple and elegant solutions to be able to use just the one keyboard and mouse.
Would bluetooth devices solve this issue?

The Magic Keyboard is a wireless, rechargeable keyboard that comes included with most Mac computers. However, those of us who are on old Macs or want a new keyboard, the small Magic keyboard might. The old-school Mac keyboard and its pleasing scissor-key mechanism is the keyboard to have for most Mac users. The keyboard needs a single AAA battery and the mouse needs one AA battery. The Logitech K750 keyboard is solar-powered but also includes a Mac keyboard layout System Preferences. For: Windows PC keyboards, any mouse. Most of the best keyboards around are unfortunately PC-based. However, there’s absolutely no difference between a PC keyboard and a Mac keyboard other than the key labels and some slight positioning.

Enter Synergy, a small, network based app that controls all your desktop machines with but one keyboard and mouse. In fact, moving between screens works just at it would with a multi-monitor setup. And because Synergy is totally cross-platform, your Mac and PC can work together side-by-side almost seamlessly.
Synergy Plus. With lots of bug fixes and stability improvements, those who've tried Synergy in the past will find a far more stable experience these days. As an added bonus, the Windows build even comes with an improved GUI for simple setup; Mac and Linux users, however, will need to download a graphical front-end of their own. QSynergy is your best bet, and is almost identical to the Windows GUI, but others exist as well. Just make sure you've installed Synergy Plus first.
Once each machine has a copy installed, one computer must be designated as the host. This is the computer with the primary keyboard and mouse, and the machine that will be used to control all the others. The server is also the machine from which you can control all of Synergy's advanced options — for example, screen position and hotkeys. The latter is particularly handy on Mac/PC setups, where Alt and Control keys posses different functions in their respective operating systems.
too far out of reach — should you happen to lose your network connection, you'll find yourself working the old fashioned way, like the rest of us multi-machine mortals.
